Bruce Naegel has been working in the sustainability field for the last 8 years. The start of that career was with a three person team that created tools to show how to configure the Veritas storage software to save energy in the data center equipment. As part of that effort, various articles were published in online journals like Greenbiz and he also spoke at industry conferences. The most recent effort is at Sustainable Silicon Valley, where he has spearheaded SSV’s metrics group in support of the Net Positive initiative. One output of this effort is a tool for displaying the status of the drought in California as part of a joint development effort with Tibco Spotfire. A good part of his career has been as Program or Product Manager of various hardware and software products in Computer Storage and for electric vehicles. He is also a member of Carbon Free Mountain View, an advocacy group for Community Choice Energy. He has a BS in Biomedical Engineering and has been certified in proficiency in PEER (Performance Excellence in Energy Renewal). He also has an active blog presence on sustainablesv.org.
