Water is elemental, vital and central to our daily lives; it is something we literally cannot live without. Dennis Murphy is the Water Director of Sustainable Silicon Valley, responsible for promoting intelligent use and reuse of our most precious, misunderstood and under-valued resource. A longtime SSV Senior Advisor, Dennis previously founded and led USGBC California, a statewide policy coalition of green building organizations focused on building the California clean energy economy through championing foundational legislative and regulatory efforts ranging from energy performance data, healthy building materials to purple pipes and water reuse. After many years in IT management consulting, Dennis helped launched initiatives in the geothermal drilling, thermal transfer and storage technology spaces. He has served as Principal Investigator of the California Energy Commission’s “Project Negatherm” heat pump study, as a USGBC Northern California board member and headed EndtoEnd Strategies, a cleantech market and business development consultancy.
